State of the Science Workshop on Wildlife and Offshore Wind Energy

July 26-28, 2022

 

Venue & Accommodations

 

We are pleased to host the 2022 State of the Science Workshop at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel and Conference Center located at 455 S Broadway, Tarrytown, New York 10591. Located close to the Hudson River, the hotel is easily accessible via nearby interstate highways. The regular room rate is $159 per night ($142 per night for government employees). 

 

To book your stay, please visit the hotel website and select "book your stay" at the top right of the page. The offer code for the room block is NRD0725, please be aware the code is caps sensitive. If the room block is full, please book your room as you would normally through the hotel website. The website also has details regarding check-in and check-out times, cancellations, early departure fees, and more.

Getting to the Workshop

Driving

Sleepy Hollow Hotel and Conference Center is easily accessible from the northeastern United States via interstate highways I-87 and I-287 which cross the Hudson River at Tarrytown on the Tappan Zee Bridge. I-95 is also nearby. 

Public Transportation

Bus

Westchester County’s Bee Line bus service provides access to White Plains and other locations in the county. Schedules and route maps are available online and at the Tarrytown train station. Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan is served by twenty bus companies whose routes cover the northeast United States.

Train

Amtrak. Long distance connections are available in New York City’s Penn Station and at Metro-North’s Croton-Harmon station

Airports

Westchester County Airport is the closest airport, about 30 minutes drive from Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow. Rental cars are available on-premises. Stewart International Airport is an alternative to the three major international airports. Rental cars are available on-premises.

 

The three nearby international airports are Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey, John F. Kennedy International Airport, and LaGuardia Airport in New York City. New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) buses provide service to and from LaGuardia and JFK Airport with connection to the subway stations, Long Island Rail Road, and Metro-North Railroad.

 

Rental cars and airport shuttles are available at all three major airports.

Food and Drink

Continental breakfast, coffee/tea breaks, and lunches will be provided for in-person meeting attendees on July 27-28th. A buffet-style dinner is also provided during the poster session on the evening of July 27th. 

 

For other meals, such as dinner on July 26th following the opening reception, Bistro Z is located within the venue (they ask that you please make advance reservations on Open Table if possible). An additional list of nearby restaurants can be viewed here
